Clip-in Extensions trimmen

You just got a few wefts Clip-in Extensions bought them and discovered that they are longer than your own hair? If you have enough wefts, you probably won't even notice it. You want an extension and you get that with your new clip-ins. But if you just want to thicken your hair a little and now have a few individual strands of hair sticking out at the bottom, then it looks anything but natural. It's time to trim your clip-ins! In this blog post we will introduce you to several methods on how you can shorten your extensions without having to go to a salon.

1. Adaptation cut

It sounds easier than it is. An adjustment cut is always necessary if your Real hair extensions are much longer than your own hair and appear unnatural. Even if your own hair has layers, you should adjust your extensions to bring authenticity and naturalness to your look.

So insert your clip-ins into your own hair and brush them with the Extension brush thoroughly to remove all tangles and knots. As always, you should make sure to leave out the connection points so as not to damage them. Don't stop brushing until your brush glides easily through your hair.

As a next step, you can moisten your hair with a little water to straighten it or alternatively straighten it with a straightener so that you can properly estimate the length. Take a close look at how long your Hair Extensions compared to your real hair. This is best done with two large mirrors, one in front of you and one behind you.

Depending on what look you want to create, the cut now comes. The best way to do this is to divide your hair into several sections and then hold them between your index and middle fingers. Cut along your fingers. Always try to take away a little less, because you can gradually cut more and more.

It is recommended to purchase special hairdressing scissors. They are much sharper than conventional household scissors. This in turn causes less hair breakage because the hair is cut off smoothly and not torn like with dull scissors.

2. Customize

After you've cut your extensions, you can perfect your natural look by matching your extensions to the rest of your hair.

To do this, you should use your extensions with a suitable one Extensions-Shampoo wash thoroughly. Then you use it Rubin Extensions Conditioner, to give your hair an irresistible shine. We have a separate page on the topic of caring for clip-in extensions where you can find all the information on this topic! To summarize: You don't need to use any friction, just put the hair pieces in lukewarm water with shampoo and then rinse well. Then repeat the procedure with conditioner. Make sure that the ends don't get too tangled.

You should dry yours Hair extension or hair thickening with a hairdryer set to the coldest setting and directed at a distance of approx. 15 to 20 cm from your hair.

If you color your hair regularly, you can also dye your extensions the same color. But even if your hair color is natural, you can adjust your extensions so that they perfectly match your hair tone.

3. Trimming

Trimming is similar to cutting, but instead of using conventional scissors, special step or thinning scissors or a razor are used.

The advantage of these scissors is that the transitions Hair Extensions are more flowing into your own hair.

The procedure is the same as cutting. Simply hold the strand of hair between your index and middle fingers and gently glide the scissors through the hair. You can also frame your face beautifully by running the thinning scissors from top to bottom.

It's better to remove a little less hair first and trim it if necessary.

You can also use these techniques Tape-in Extensions, Bonding Extensions, Microring Extensions and Flip-in Extensions apply. Ponytail and forehead fringe extensions can also be cut, but this is not absolutely necessary.

Save yourself another trip to the hairdresser and thus time and money. You will see that the more often you cut your hair yourself, the more skilled you will become in dealing with it Extensions.
